A multimedia programmer gives a multimedia product its functionality by writing computer programs or creating websites that draw together multimedia features, such as text, sound, graphics, digital photography, 2D/3D modelling, animation and video, according to a designer's specification. Multimedia products work on particular 'platforms', predominantly the internet, as well as interactive television, information kiosks, DVDs, CD-ROMs, computer games consoles and mobile phones.

Pre Production and production mainly but also post production.

While there is a high degree of variation in animation applications, there are some common tasks that animators in any field may complete in the course of a normal day's work:
• Drawing storyboards and creating models
• Designing an animated environment that includes backgrounds, sets and objects
• Designing characters
• Creating each frame
• Working out the timing of movements and making sure things meet the script and soundtrack requirements
• Using computer software, including Flash, Maya, Light wave and others
• Working as part of a team
• Working with clients (developing concepts, pitching ideas, etc.)

Today in Creative Digital Media the class used Adobe illustrator and flash to create some animations from scratch, which was a fish swimming through water. We also watched Simone Legnos design techniques which looked awesome and he gave it was really hard.
